Warm and welcoming. Sundays might be difficult to talk to people because the entrance is small, but there are small groups and events to help you get plugged in. I'm not into mega churches, so I appreciate that it's the right size and big enough. I've lived in many countries and been to many types of churches, and usually can see quickly if the doctrine is sound or not, and I feel this church keeps things to the basics and biblical, not too much glamour, or focus on a single pastor, just right. This church is a special place where genuine, deep community is being built. Some of the main values of the church that I could see off the bat (and I still see to be true two years later) include an emphasis on being a blessing to NYC by supporting non-profits that are making a local impact, an emphasis on emotionally healthy spirituality and discipleship, and an emphasis on sharing the gospel with those who are new to a church setting but want to grow in an understanding of God. The leaders are so humble, servant hearted, genuine, and welcoming. This church is also connected to two other churches in Manhattan - Hope West Side and Hope East Village, so if you are closer to one of those 2 neighborhoods, you can also consider visiting one of those locations as well! "It's not possible to be spiritually mature while being emotionally immature." I've been coming to Hope Midtown since 2017, and I can say that Pastor Drew's sermons, the courses offered, and the community have all helped me, a woman from Los Angeles, adjust to (and even love!) New York City and grow in faith in ways I couldn't even imagine. The church has seen me through a breakup, my "quarter life crisis" and career change, and seasons of healing. I'm excited to see what else is in store as the church continues to grow, and I'm so thankful for all the people I've met, including my soon-to-be husband! Really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. Everyone made us feel like we worship together every week. Wonderful spirit of praising the Lord, and focus on Christ. Visiting the church was one of our highlights to our trip to NY. Everybody here is loving, caring and accepting . This church really emphasizes what it means to follow Christ in love , the necessity and importance of the Gospel . You will feel at home here and always welcomed !
