What visitors say
What a wonderful, gospel preaching, welcoming church. I travel around for work and sometimes get a Sunday available to go to church and worship. It’s always hard to evaluate whether I’ll feel welcome as a stranger and refreshed by a good teaching. I left this church wishing I could come back. The worship was fantastic and the music in it was wonderful. Thank You Lord for leading me to this church this morning. I am visiting ny and wanted to find a good church. My cousin who used to live in Manhattan recommended me this church so I went with my son for the 11 am service. Loved the sermon and everything. If you are visiting ny or new to ny, this is the church👍👍❤️❤️ We went 10 mins before so there were empty seats but it got full so quickly. Incredibly warm and friendly church with biblical teachings. Technically non-denominational but has a Presbyterian lean. Mostly Korean and Chinese American, with a growing number of people in their 20s but also many in their 30s+ and families with young children. There are many opportunities to get involved - community groups, newcomer lunches, and other various events to take advantage of. It is what you make of it- if you choose to get plugged in and invest, you will find spiritual family. The church is growing rapidly and there were overcrowding problems this past year, but that has recently been addressed by moving from 1 to 2 services! Dismal hospitality, cliquey congregation. I've been visiting for a few months now. People here just put in no effort. Hospitality: Nobody at the welcoming table bats an eye at you when you enter, they dont try to help spot available seats in an already-overcrowded room, and there isnt even freaking water offered to congregants. Community: This is your classic cliquey yuppie korean american church. Unless you know someone and/or are deemed "worthy" enough to be included in one of the social groups, don't even bother. Nobody gives a crap about you. They preach about building each other up on Sundays, but as soon as service ends, everyone just huddles into their little circles and talk about where to eat in k-town. You can pour your heart out in community groups but nobody will check up on you to see if you're even alive. Great community, super welcoming to newcomers, amazing place to worship :)
