My wife and I have been regularly attending here for the last 6 months. What I can say is that HPCUMC is a place where the people truly care! From the first person we met, the church's culture is one of fellowship and connection. If you are looking for a church, I would strongly encourage you to check them out! In light of our world at the moment, I am left disappointed that this pastor did not call out the sin and the true problem that we face but instead tiptoed around the true issue. You are called by God to deliver the news in all its love and justice. Jesus made us perfect and we are not to alter our physical bodies. You condone that and that is wrong. Turn people to Jesus and call out sin. We can’t fight AI chatbots but we can assuredly blame and fight the true demonic entities of this world and how Christ dealt with them. And not one scripture was referenced. Stop playing church and BE THE CHURCH! Historic building with beautiful architecture yet the people inside are vibrant believers that embrace the changes that God calls in our lives. A moderate church that has progressive views on social justice (love thy neighbor) and Christ centered views (love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind). Todd Anderson treated me poorly on every occasion I have encountered him. I have been polite and respectful and he is sarcastic, sardonic and mean. Not what I seek in church. Churches should be welcoming. The church houses the Job Search Focus Group on Monday mornings every week helping those who are looking for work. Post-pandemic it is a small and very supportive group with varied educational topics.
