What visitors say

I was invited to this church by a friend I met through a running group. Through that friendship, I was invited to attend, and I truly believe God puts people in your path for a reason. Whether they are meant to be in your life for a short time or a long time, I am grateful for the connections He places along the way. I was a little nervous at first about attending a new church and not knowing what to expect. From the moment I walked in, though, I was warmly greeted, and everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. I attended a service during the “Love Killers” series, and the message was truly beautiful. I would highly recommend listening to the sermon if you haven’t already. Today was my third weekend attending, and I had the opportunity to meet even more people who were supportive, friendly, and genuinely inviting. I’ve been searching for a community of like-minded people who share my values and beliefs, as well as a church that truly cares about its people. From day one, they welcomed me with open arms and made me feel right at home. I’m so grateful for the connections I’ve already made and for the way God has guided me here. I look forward to seeing what He has planned for me in this next chapter. We love everything Life Church has to bring and it is a great church for families. Call themselves a “church” but the pastor is never there, rarely even in the STATE. It’s honestly impressive how absent leadership can be while still pretending everything’s fine. They blast rave music for 30 minutes before the message like it’s a nightclub instead of a sanctuary, and the pastor doesn’t even cite Scripture, which is actually insane for someone supposedly teaching the Word. Walking in, I got greeted with looks like I didn’t belong there. Not a single “hi,” not even a nod — just people acting like I was invisible. The whole atmosphere feels more like a social club with a dress code than a place welcoming anyone seeking God. They are rude to they own staff and aren’t understanding or forgiving, which is crazy considering they preach about grace every week. The lack of compassion is unreal. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A PLACE OF GOD BUT HE AIN’T HERE. Everything about this place feels off, disconnected, and honestly just fake. Absolute horror show from start to finish. This place is a CULT! Before even coming to this church today, i prayed for nearly an hour for wisdom, guidance, and discernment. The spirit of God is not found here. Today was my first time going. 1 single person shook my hand and welcomed me in, told me good morning. That same man recognized me when I left, shook my hand again and wished me a blessed day, and I am so thankful for him. That is about the only thing that was good about my experience here. For starters, the very first song the worship team sang was No One, by Alicia Keys. This is a secular song, by a secular artist, about her ex boyfriend. I was told "its to make people feel comfortable." As a church, and a community itself, if you have to deny the word of God and sing secular music in the house of God to make people feel "comfortable" then you are CLEARLY DOING SOMETHING VERY WRONG AS A COMMUNITY! The bible makes it very clear not to focus on Secular things. Then, they actually started playing worship music about Jesus. Myself, and maybe 7 other people in the congregation were worshipping and praising. After Alicia Keys ended, everyone in the congregation had stopped singing and dancing and stood silent like motionless zombies. I did not see anyone, besides 1 other person who had actually brought a bible, and I realize now its because the Pastor of the church (who wasn't even there. His sermons are live streamed on a giant projector from Oklahoma City) DOES NOT CITE THE BIBLE! His sermons go "Jesus said...." "God said..." "Elisha said..." and he does not provide the scriptures, verses, or context when saying these things. He goes "this is in the bible" and does not show it....at all. His sermon today, he showed 3 small tiny verses, completely out of context without any explanation. I had to pull out my bible and read surrounding verses to get an idea and understanding of what was going on in that book of the bible, and that made me realize that the pastor has no idea what hes talking about. I kid you not, in today's sermon the Pastor himself admitting to having lost his fire in God. Okay, so let's unpack that. If you claim you've lost your fire with God, then how do you know the message you are preaching is from God? How can I, as a member of this church, even trust your judgement? It wasn't until 10 minutes before the sermon ended that the pastor FINALLY even spoke the name of Jesus and incorporated him into "lesson." Even then, his whole message was "God will do anything you ask him to because he cares abiut what you care about." Which is fundamentally and biblically inaccurate. God can and will do miracles, however that does not mean he WILL do miracles. The way the pastor laid down this message implied that "God bows down to our will like a genie and gives us everything that we ask for." Which is not true. As Christians, we should be bowing down to GOD'S WILL, not our own. Talking about how "If you lost something, God will return it if you ask." Or maybe, that relationship or item is lost, because that was God's will and plan for your life. To any new believer reading this, I urge you not to be a part of this church, or any other "Life Church." You will not find the love of God here. You will not find the message of God's word here. Before my mother passed away last month, she warned me not to go to this church, and I should have listened. We have been attending life about a year and half now! I love our worship songs and the sermons always touch my heart. I always leave with a “life lesson”. It’s the best way to start your week!
