I wrote the review below 2 months ago. Today, I must praise the Edmond Church of Christ as they reconsidered their decision and agreed to have my friends husband honored at the church after all. It was a lovely service with military honor guards and a relatively large audience. My friend was extremely delighted that the church reversed their original decision and this is helping her get through her grief in loosing her beloved Monty. Thank you Kevin Raynor for your open heart and courage to make this right. ————— My friend’s husband was a regular member, a tither, a veteran and volunteer for years at Edmond Church of Christ until he got ill and went into a nursing home. Sadly, he passed this week and the family wanted to have his memorial service at this church. When my friend asked pastor Kevin Raynor to arrange the service, he denied her request citing “it’s been awhile since he was attending and no one would remember him, so no, we won’t be able to accommodate your request“. Wait…. what! How disappointing is that! Both my friend and her husband were veterans and served this church for years. So I guess his wife will have to hold his memorial service for her family and friends in her living room. We have found the Church of Christ to be extremely righteous and hypocritical. I guess they want your time and money while you’re living, but once you get old, they ignore veterans and dedicated members when you‘re gone. This is just another example. Save your soul and stay away from this church! Wonderful family of Christians to worship the true words of God with. Will attend again as we travel thru this area. I love this congregation so much. Everyone there is so kind and welcoming, especially the youth group. I've been attending this church since 2015 and have been involved in a lot. They have so many mission trips and service opportunities. I have seen God work through this congregation. Thank you teacher Phil Sanders for the word of the bible and the singing so beautiful and praise Jesus for all of you for your faithfulness each week. Sunday July 30,2023 truly miss Phyllis b. I've attended Edmond Church of Christ since 1997. I've found it to be a warm, loving, friendly group of people, with dedicated leadership. It's been a blessing to me and my entire family.
