If you're looking for a group of people who genuinely care about not just people's souls, but also their physical wellbeing for our time here on Earth - then look no further. I visited the Norman area recently and about 30 minutes outside of Tulsa (1.5 hours out of Norman) my car broke down and my battery and alternator were both shot. Together with help from the congregation (its Elder and members alike), I was able to get these issues resolved, continue my trip, and be kept out of a really rough and upsetting situation. They worked with me while I was attending the local New Years meeting and didn't just tell me I was loved - they proved it and helped me fully feel it. They weren't just welcoming of me as a person, they let me know a deep level of love and kindness for their fellow man through their actions. The meeting was also phenomenal, and I can say with complete confidence that while this is an incredible congregation, they are also a full on God-centered community that proves the follower's of Christ are more than like-minded friends; they're family. They are exemplifying being lights of the world and salt of the earth. Not to mention the preaching at the meeting ! It was uplifting and edifying and really helped get me back into a passionate and dedicated mindset to start the New Year off right for the Lord. As someone who was, at a point, considering just shelling out all my travel money on whatever was available and finding a way to drive home (due to being discouraged with my car and situation), I cannot thank them enough for their love and support. I also applaud them for their teaching and doctrine - which is Biblically based on direct scripture and Biblical example. They do not take liberties of exerting any of their own authority and follow God's directions to successfully produce much good fruit for Him (that He is so deserving of). Thank you for everything, Norman Congregation. Staying for the meeting and getting to know you better was one of the best things that happened in my 2025 ! May God bless you all and your work for Him in the New Year and those to follow. I have felt completely welcome from the first time I worshipped here over five years ago. The leadership is great. I feel totally confident that our services follow the commands from God's word. Anyone would benefit from worshipping here. It was wonderful to gathering with Christians last night. The groups singing is amazing! I am so thankful for the Norman church of Christ for organizing this year's meeting! We truly enjoyed this year’s New Year’s meeting and are so grateful for the work everyone put into making it a success. The facility was amazing, and being able to stay on site was such a bonus. The lobby provided a perfect space to gather, connect, and spend time together. We also appreciated the ample restroom facilities and how well everything was stocked—we never once ran out of tissues, soap, or other essentials. The hotel staff was gracious, professional, and a pleasure to work with throughout our stay. Most of all, the congregational leadership did an outstanding job coordinating every aspect of the event, making it a truly meaningful and well-run experience for everyone involved. I moved to Norman for OU and needed a church to help me grow spiritually during that time, too. I found family here, as cliche as that sounds. It's a group of people focused on glorifying God and showing love, and I couldn't ask for better. I've been a member here for like ten years, and I hope if people come to visit that I'm part of that welcoming, kind atmosphere.
