Very beautiful church. Went here for a good period of time, but I felt the priest for the English masses was drifting too far off the main homily for my taste. That being said, this cathedral will always hold a place in my heart as it was one of the first churches I consistently went to. Gift shop is often very full of people after mass. Ladies that run it are nice and they have a decent selection of items for how small the room is. Parking is free and easy to find though as they have their own garage. This is a really beautiful place to just come and be still for a moment. The music is playing but it's not distracting; the scriptures are on huge plaques and you can kind of wander and read until one catches your attention. Then sit by the water and think on that one... Appreciate the really beautiful little statues around the building... Thank God for bringing you to this beautiful place and leave refreshed and mind and spirit. Situated amid the cultural institutions of Dallas’s Arts District, the shrine stands out both for its historic architecture and its living role in the local faith community at the heart of downtown. The inside of the cathedral is just jaw dropping gorgeous! You walk in and you’re hit with the presence of God. My family attended daily mass while we were visiting, and while it was very hard to fully understand everything due to the echo, it was still a beautiful service. Such an amazing homily that I must share a brief summary. There are three factors that will corrupt your soul. The devil because he tries to convince you God doesn't love you. The flesh because it tries to convince you that you dont have a spiritual needs. The world because it tries to convince you that there is no heaven.
