Visited Calvary Chapel San Jose when they hosted an event from “Answers in Genesis”. During that event I had the great pleasure of meeting and listening to Ken Ham. A good place to worship and learn about Jesus. A generally welcoming- come as you are church. The worship team also does a really great job with the music. WARNING ⛔️ the senior pastor told me he doesn’t believe in psychology and he forbids d service animals in the church except seeing eye dogs. So I no longer attend. Went today for the first time and weird vibes all around to say the least. First red flag was the church has reserved “pastoral parking” right in front, never seen that before. They announced a “walk for life” event which I guess was a very vague “pro life” event but they didn’t condemn abortion once or mention it’s evil, very lukewarm. The last and biggest red flag was the entire sermon, they had a a guest speaker talk about the history and origins of Islam. If I wanted to learn about Islam I wouldn’t go to Christian church now would I? Weird quotes that people were eating up like “Somalis are on welfare” and stuff about how great republicans are. We left early, wasted our Sunday checking out this church. We attended there for the first time , it was a great service , we love the pastor , they also have a Christian school and the church prayed for the teachers . We were guests at this church and overall we had a great time worshipping the Lord . Biblical sound Teaching Spirit filled Pastor Great supportive body of believers Lots of groups to join Amazing youth group Private school with biblical teaching Christian bookstore and coffee shop Food pantry Health and wellness Fair
