If your flesh dislikes the church, you attack it and its brothers and sisters, which is to say, you are attacking God, trampling on God, and showing no reverence for Him. The consequences of offending God are severe; be mindful of your actions. Original: I wrote this comment specifically to address the malicious comment below from Satan. God wants us to speak words of building up humanity, yet Satan is constantly trying to destroy the unity of the body of Christ. I have been in the Lord's recovery for 20 years, and due to life's changes, I have lived in over a dozen churches. I have never felt that elders have any sense of official rank. Expanding the enduring fruit is inherently difficult work; it requires much prayer, allowing God to pave the way, rather than using human notions and simply focusing on quantity, which is not what pleases God. This is a church unblessed by God. It is deeply entrenched in bureaucratic hierarchy; elders serve for life, thus the system cannot expand, change, or be renewed. The elders' positions are equivalent to "officials," and they are unwilling to step down or become new members. When Li Changshou was alive, they were about forty years old; now they are eighty, even ninety, yet they still insist on not retiring and have not mentored younger co-workers. The generation that Li Changshou nurtured back then has now become the root cause of the system's stagnation. Because this is a church unblessed by God, it has been unable to expand or truly move forward over the years.
