I'm 40 and this is my FAVORITE church of all, i can no longer attend due to work schedule temporarily changing but i'm now online and about to attend their service online every Sunday. Glory to our Father, and thanks so much for your time fellow staff. The pastor is awesome, and the entire band who plays music and sings are outstanding. I got tears of beauty one time the lady was on the violin. 10/10!!! Bethel Church in Evansville has driven their senior class of more than 50 people out of their classroom and therefore the church. These are folks who helped build that church from the ground up. Many have been there since the 60's. The senior class has been pushed out of one room to another until finally now being told that if they want to meet at Bethel, these elderly people will have to travel to the second floor to a small prayer garden. It was even made clear by one of the pastor's staff to the elders that the church is doing great financially. Clearly letting the elders know that their tithes are no longer that important. The pastor of the church (Prince Samuel) didn't even have the respect to meet with these people who have been the foundation of this church for so many years. They've been forbidden to have an American flag or even say the pledge of allegiance in church. Now these wonderful, Godly people are basically forced to find someplace else to gather. I guess I just don't understand a church who would do this to these members of their congregation. Someone should ask this church what would Jesus do? 14 NEWS should interview these wonderful people about their treatment by this "church." An amazing church where they focus on not only understanding God’s Word, but on living it out. I love how we are encouraged to focus less on our own selfish preferences in favor of loving others obeying the commandment of Jesus to love one another! You can tell by the way people love one another here that they are constantly pursuing obedience to God’s commands! Making disciples is clearly the focus of our pastor. While there are people in every church who seem to focus more on legalism or traditions, or idolizing a pastor, you can see genuine followers of Jesus by observing the fruit of the Spirit in their lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Even in the younger generation you can see these fruits lived out in how they speak to one another and pray for one another. If you are looking to understand the Bible and grow in your spiritual walk, this place will challenge you to leave your comfort zone and engage in a life-changing relationship with Jesus. My church is not a building. My church is all the loving family who gather together to worship and praise. I really enjoyed the service as I passed through town. The sermon was well researched and well spoken, and it was theologically sound. Plus, it was from the old testament which gets ignored a lot. The worship through music was also extremely well done. I didn't get to interact with a lot of people, but they seemed nice. The facility was also nice and well kept. A few of the sinks in the restroom didn't seem to work, but other than that the facility seemed top notch. All said and done, it seems like a church well worth checking out if you don't have a church home and you live locally.
