This church is definitely not a traditional church of Christ. Classes start at 10:00 AM. 11:00 AM is the time they have worship services. First, everyone is super friendly and kind and welcoming. The preacher is great and the teacher of the class was great as well. Here is what is different: They have a worship band with instruments. They partake communion all as one - the bread and the grape juice at the same time. They have women participate in various aspects of worship. If you are looking for a traditional Church of Christ to visit, you will have to look somewhere else. If you want a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment that has some aspects of a traditional church of Christ, this church is perfect! This is a remarkable church of followers of Christ. Though not perfect they strive to follow, teach, live and love like the bible. Each visit I have visited Louisville i stayed with a family from the church and it was very inspiring. Thunder over Louisville and Valentine's Day are just two of the church's amazing annual must-see must-attend events. Sunday worship is pretty cool too. This church is a very diverse group of people who genuinely live the teachings of Jesus out. Five years ago I was invited out for the first time and they studied the Bible with me personally and helped me develop a real relationship with God living as Jesus’ disciple. I was so encouraged to see so many different kinds of people, it not something I was used to seeing in church growing up. 100 STARS! The Louisville Church has been like my Family since 1980. Whether you are just visiting from out of town or are looking for a place to call your "Church Home", you will feel welcome. It's a very inclusive place where there is color, economic, educational, political, cultural, age, even fashion blindness. None of that stuff matters. Just come as you are and if you have a Bible, bring it because you will use it. If you don't have one, that's ok too, we have plenty there. The messages are all about learning to understand God's Word and how to APPLY it to our lives. Bring your kids and your voices to sing praises to God, and yes, we use instruments to praise him as King David did with his harp and lyre in the Old Testament. You will soon want to get involved in one of our many local Family Groups which support each other and study the Bible together. It's great! Check us out! Went there for the first time last weekend for a retreat. The church was very hospitable and loving! Plus that lesson was fire!! Afterwards, we had fellowship time over lunch. It felt like family and will definitely be back!!
