I had the pleasure of attending their annual Faithful Conference. I came all the way from Malaysia to visit the seminary nearby and thought of dropping by. I am a pastor from Christ Evangelical Reformed Church and one of our apprentices is studying at Reformed Theological Seminary. It’s wonderful to meet like-minded believers here in the US. Folks were friendly and introduced themselves to me. Spent time with many of them over a week. There are good people here. If you’re looking for a church that is serious about the truth, Christ and His gospel, come here. By God's grace, I moved from Kyiv to a small town where I preached to communists, atheists, and ordinary people on the street; strangely enough, it was Christians from other churches who rose up against me the most. Yet God performed a miracle among people who had never attended church before, and He established a congregation there; I served as its pastor for 26 years. However, due to the war, my daughter nearly lost her life, so I brought her to Spartanburg for medical treatment, and that is where we are now. I have never been to this church, but seeing both positive and negative comments about it made me wonder if I should visit; after all, people—specifically religious people—did not always speak well of Christ or His disciples. The devil, you see, does not like churches where God is sincerely worshipped and people are truly served. Great youth group leaders and children's programs. Members are very service oriented and make you feel like family. If you are looking for a Christian church definitely worth checking out. Expositional preaching. Solid music. Organized leadership. Warm people. Great small groups. I had to give this 4 stars since Reformed dogmas influence a lot thinking. I know every church has tradition; but the PCA has some controversial issues; where tradition is relied on a little too heavy. Many other things are very good at this church. Every time I drive by this church, I get cut off by people rushing there. Yesterday, I had an old guy almost run me off the road so he could turn in. I had my son in the car, and this isn’t the first time. Another time, I went to pick up my mom, and two old people in a golf cart came speeding up telling me they “know what I’m doing,” all with some nasty expletives. This is the least Christian church I have ever had the dishonor of going to. The people only think of themselves, and have no empathy. If these are the lessons the church teaches, I’d recommend steering clear if you want to make it to the Kingdom of Heaven.
