What visitors say

Visited on a road trip to California. Everything about this church in my visit makes me believe they firmly base their church in what the Bible believes the church should be. The preaching is based on verse by verse teaching of the Bible and hospitality is excellent. Fantastic church. Mission church is a great church. The lead Elder/Pastor, John Lee is a fantastic teacher with a strong gift and passion to faithfully present the Word of God. He specifically and intentionally preaches exegetically from the Bible and does so in a chapter by chapter manner, not skipping over tough portions of scripture for him as a teacher or me as a learner. John is a kind and considerate person who also does not waver from truth with his kindness. He won’t lie to you to make you feel good if what you’re doing is sinful and leading you away from obedience to God’s Word and God’s good will for your life. He’s challenged my position multiple times or flat out corrected me and does so as gently as possible but ensures I understand where I’m incorrect. He also listens to criticism and feedback and quickly humbles himself if he’s in the wrong, when he occasionally is (rarely, if ever, about Bible matters, but sometimes in interpersonal or technical topics). Mission church has a clearly defined statement of faith and intentionally seeks to be transparent about all aspects of what they believe so you will never feel duped or blindsided by one of their faith positions. Their new building is clean and well-maintained. They have a strong group of volunteers actively managing church activities and of course those attendees who follow Christ are encouraged to practice obedience and use their spiritual gifts for the building up of the body (per God’s Word). Overall, a great community, you will find few gossips or busybodies among the membership since they’re pretty quick to challenge one another on stuff like that and shut down unhealthy tearing down of others. Though of course they’re human and are in the process of being changed by Jesus so they still make mistakes and aren’t perfect. Overall, a healthy and growing group of believers to join with plenty of good Godly men among them who won’t shy away from leading and doing what’s right and Godly women who want to encourage one another and not form cliques or be “mean girls”. Come, grow with them, learn about God’s Word, be challenged, and grow in your faith. Mission is an oasis in the desert and a very much unexpectedly Biblically sound church in “sin city”. 10/10. Would recommend over most churches I’ve attended in the various states I’ve lived (including a stint in the “Bible belt”). Gospel preaching church community. First time I walked in, I was greeted warmly, sincerely, and enthusiastically by several people, including Pastor John Lee. The Gospel is preached every Sunday, which encourages my heart to believe Jesus and follow Him all the way. Pastor John makes great efforts to connect with the congregation and feed each of our spirits with the Word. Highly recommend attending and if you're lead to, make this your local body to be connected with. Appreciate Mission Church. Singing and Bible teaching. Especially appreciate communion every Sunday
