I have been attending Grace and Truth Church Cincinnati for the past year and am happy to call it my church home. It is a solid biblical church. The preaching is expository and the music is grounded in sound doctrine. The congregation loves the Word of God and that overflows into a love for one another. It’s also a praying church that acknowledges our dependence on God for everything. It’s a diverse body unified by the most important thing - Jesus Christ! I’ve attended Grace and Truth (formally Hyde Park) church for a number of years now. For years with our previous pastor Bill Rillo and for years with our current pastor Steve Ham, and they both esteem Christ and preach the gospel. One thing I appreciate was the way he had courage to acknowledge sin that other evangelical churches brushed under the rug or supported in their silence was the topic of social injustice. I can assure you biblical truths are freely spoken at this church without the unnecessary sociopolitical rhetoric that actually has nothing to do with Christ or the Bible. I want expository preaching and I get fed the word of God here. I also want the occasional topical preaching to help me grow in a particular area and I receive that here. I want a pastor that has a love and compassion for the lost and in the continued sanctification of his church attendees. Music style is a preference as long as it had a foundation for God’s truth. We have a mix of modern biblically sound music and hymns and I personally appreciate that fact. I have people that I love dearly that attend the church with me. I’m growing in Christ because I have found a church home I believe I can learn and thrive in and that’s all any Christian can ask. Grace and Truth Church Cincinnati cares about the details, without the pharisaical legalism. If there are three things that Grace and Truth Church cares about, they are: 1) Preaching the Gospel. Wow. What more is there to be said? Fulfilling the great commission through supporting missionaries and supporting the local body through weekly exegetical preaching. Truthfully speaking, this church shepherds its congregation with a level of intentionality and care that is true to the biblical charge to “shepherd the flock among you”, as said in 1 Peter 5. 2) Biblical Counseling. I can say this with full confidence, “Biblical Counseling saved my marriage”. To be in a church that highly values biblical counseling and has people who are well versed and trained in biblical counseling is a blessing. Applying the power and authority of God’s Word to any and all situations in life is just another testament to the faith and honor AND reverence this church has for the Word of God. 3) Community. Hebrews 10:25 says to not neglect the gathering of the saints. Grace and Truth Church takes this to heart and follows this command inside and outside of the church. I have gained lifelong friends here. My wife and I have met with numerous people inside the church on Sunday and outside the church during the week and it has been a breath of fresh air. If you are seeking Godly community that is genuine and loving, Grace and Truth is truly a place to check out. All in all, GTCC is a church that loves deeply. It loves people deeply and it loves God and His Word deeply. I thank God for this church. I'm so grateful to the Lord for bringing us to Grace and Truth. It's a church that focuses on the main things first and foremost, keeping the gospel of Jesus Christ central and building up the body to his glory. We love our new church family! I've been attending this church ever since 2015, and met my wife here in 2017. It's hard to be succinct about why I love this church, but here are some highlights. The elders are all committed to the inerrancy and sufficiency of the Bible, while equally committed to being loving and gracious toward others. They preach a Christ-centeredness in everything, from evangelism to discipleship to marriage to recreation. The folks that attend here are not spectators: they introduce themselves, engage in outreach, help each other in times of need, and wait for an answer to the question, "How are you doing?" This is the place to grow, stretch, learn, serve, praise, pray, and be edified!
