What visitors say

It has been a long time since I’ve stepped into a church and felt so genuinely refreshed and saturated in the presence of the Lord. From the moment I walked in, the body of believers are warm and welcoming, marked by humility and love. There is a clear hunger to be a house of prayer and a dwelling place for His presence. The focus is entirely on Jesus, not on performance, but on ministering to the Lord. The spontaneous worship rose like sweet incense before Him, and His presence felt tangible in the most beautiful way. This is a place where hearts are postured in surrender, where praise flows freely, and where the presence of God is honored and stewarded with reverence. I am deeply grateful for a church that truly makes room for Him and can’t wait to visit again! 🤍 Hey Galveston, I’m one of the worship leaders at Antioch Galveston, I love this church with all my heart. We have Lifegroup that meet every week in homes all over the island, and soon we will be opening a 24/7 prayer room! Robert (the pastor) is one of the most genuinely humble dudes I’ve ever met. His messages are all about Jesus. Antioch Community Church is a part of a movement of church plants all over America, I went to my first one in College Station when I was in university and have loved Antioch since joining. This church really carries the heart of God for the lost, is laser focused on Jesus, knowing Him more, and his heart to see the great commission fulfilled. Key verse for Antioch Galveston: “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:4‬ I’ve stayed silent for a long time… but healing requires truth. ✨ A church that claimed to follow Jesus weaponised my mental health. Instead of compassion, they used intimidation. Instead of support, they used fear. Instead of love, they used manipulation — even to the point of influencing situations that put my relationship with my daughter at risk. But they failed. I fought. And by God’s mercy, my daughter is home with me. 💛🙏 ⸻ 🐍 A Serpent Spirit, Not the Spirit of God The Bible describes a serpent as deceptive and treacherous — someone who exploits trust to betray (Genesis 3). Jesus warned: “Beware of false prophets…wolves in sheep’s clothing.” (Matthew 7:15) 🐺 That is exactly what I encountered — religion, not Jesus. ⸻ 🔥 What They Did Did NOT Match Their Mission They claim to be a loving, multicultural, multigenerational church with a mission to: ❤️ Love Jesus 🤝 Love one another authentically 🌎 Love those who don’t know Him But nothing I experienced matched that. Authentic love does not shame, manipulate, intimidate, twist someone’s vulnerability, or attempt to separate a mother and child. Their actions didn’t reflect Jesus — only fear, image-control, and self-protection. ⸻ ✝️ Shame & Guilt Are Not Love Scripture says: “There is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1) Shame is not love. Guilt is not guidance. Intimidation is not ministry. Jesus came to set people free, not trap them in fear. ⸻ ❤️‍🩹 I Forgive Them — And I Choose Healthy Boundaries I forgive them — because Jesus calls me to forgive so I can walk free (Ephesians 4:32). But forgiveness also comes with wisdom. Forgiveness does not mean returning to unhealthy patterns. Forgiveness does not erase the need for discernment. Forgiveness simply means I’ve released the offense — not my boundaries. Jesus said: “Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” 🕊️🐍 (Matthew 10:16) With that wisdom, I can acknowledge this truth: They’re simply not the right people for those who are in vulnerable seasons or seeking emotional and spiritual safety — and it’s okay to say that. I hold no hatred. But I honor what God has taught me: that healthy boundaries matter, and not every environment is safe or suitable for every heart. Ephesians 5:11 reminds us to shine light on harmful behavior — not ignore it. That’s why I’m sharing my experience: not to attack, but to bring clarity and truth. 🔦✨ John 8:32 says: “The truth will set you free.” I forgive them ❤️‍🩹… but I also walk forward with wisdom, peace, and discernment. I am healed — and I refuse to stay silent where others might be harmed. My voice is not bitterness — it is clarity, stewardship, and light. ✨ Pastor Robert—a wonderful, humble, Spirit-filled minister we have known since about 28 years ago—leads a church filled with beautiful souls. I recommend Antioch Galveston! The prayer sets throughout each week (one hour each of ministering to God with worship) have brought me nearer to God. Being in God’s presence like that has brought breakthroughs in my life, like delivering me from a lifelong sugar addiction. I have the power to overcome but confess I don’t always use it! More prayer and gratefulness needed! Being involved with the lovely people at the church also brought deep healing. The ladies showed such love towards me and my family that it was transformative, and that’s no exaggeration. ❤️🙏🏼❤️ And get this! 🙂 Thanks to Antioch Galveston, I discovered a thrilling calling to play the bass! And that experience came with a miraculous healing from severe carpal tunnel (the “rocks” that had developed in my wrists even disappeared). A physical therapist for carpal tunnel verified it had to be a miracle because playing bass is the last kind of thing they would recommend. I was all in when I went to this glorious church, but I knew full-well it was temporary at the get-go. I was helping a family member to get settled and blessed — and the blessings have overflowed continually! Absolutely phenomenal!!! I loved everything about this church. The people, the atmosphere, the worship, the sermon, literally everything. Being a first time guest, they really strive to make you feel special. I even noticed that everyone there is a big family, which is a major plus in my book. I will definitely return for future Sunday services!! And I cannot wait to bring my children. I know they're going to love it, too!!! Thank you for such a wonderful time at your church!!
