Very poor experience at this church. My boyfriend invited me to Sunday service one day. I was very saddened to find that this church is very cliquey and has a judgmental atmosphere for people who don’t go there. There’s a lot of performativeness, but no real sense of community. Huge disappointment and I do not recommend. Wonderful church that has made Oakland feel like home for my family! The church is committed to serving oakland. Very welcoming community and incredible staff, children’s ministry and sermons. A wonderful church to be a part of! A very welcoming and caring body of people from many backgrounds that has made Oakland feel more like home. Additionally, the church has been active in engaging with local non-profits to continue to make Oakland a better place to work and live. Very diverse church that preached the Gospel. This church does a fantastic job of welcoming everyone...believers, non-believers, people of different faiths, etc. The congregation is filled with families with small children, single adults, college students, seniors, etc. This fairly new church aims to serve the city of Oakland in any way it can and continue to learn how to best do that through its ministry. I personally attend this church and feel supported, challenged and mentored by the community I have found here at ResOakland.
