In the beginning, Elevation Church will definitely put on a facade that will make you want to come back. You get a t-shirt, and hugs at the door. But pretty soon you'll realize that unless you sign up to volunteer, join a team and be there at every event, you aren't considered part of the community. The music is exceptionally loud. You almost need ear plugs. And you will have to get used to everybody from the musicians to the campus pastor, selling Elevation Church newest music. It's all about popularity. And then Selling t-shirts, and other merchandise, like you're at a concert and not a church service. As a new volunteer, you will also spend most of your time setting up early on Sundays, and doing special events. And not getting home on Sundays until 3:00 p.m. or later. This is what they will expect. And mask it as "family." Unfortunately under the surface it's another mega church, where they don't address societal issues going on outside of the church. It's another clique club, where you will never be a part of the Elevation inner circle. It seems like a community, but quickly you realize that it's all just a facade. Nice community of people, never felt uncomfortable going here I’ve been going on and off for a couple years. The building itself is always clean and smells nice, the people are friendly and Steven preaches good. I came out of state to visit. I felt the spirit of God all around. Can't wait to come back. As members of the volunteer team, we are dedicated to serving our community and our church. We are a close-knit group and consider each other family. We were baptized at Elevation Church and it is our spiritual home. We are passionate about our faith and love being a part of this church. In short, our experience at Elevation Church has been nothing short of remarkable. We visited for first time. Took the foster kids with us to visit. "Some" of the staff were friendly, even very friendly. Others not so much. We asked about the welcome gifts and was told we had to wait until after the service. Then after the service, I was asked what size, I said Medium and he insisted I take an XL. I'm not a big guy. It was a little weird TBH. Not offended, just thats not a good first impressions. The music was really good. It was very loud, but that doesn't bother me. I think the overall thing that stand out to me is that this is a "satellite" church and we aren't going to let another person preach/teach at this location. The head pastor is broadcast live from their main campus. I see this becoming more and more of a trend. I don't care for it. It's impersonal and disconnected to a degree. It just all felt so structured and cookie cutter. Even if the speaker today would have been at our location, I still wouldn't have cared for it.
