I attended the 11am service this morning. I haven't been to church in a little over 30 years. When I walked up to the front doors, I and a couple of other people I was accompanied with, were greeted with a smike and a polite staff. I have never been to church this big, but it wasn't overwhelming. The readings were inspirational and the music (especially the drums) were energetic. I left feeling positive, inspired, and an instant mood changer --- good to great. Thank you for a positive experience, Two Cities Church. God bless, Frank What a great church. The Word is from the Gospel. It aligns with topics of today and is rooted in the Word of God. The worship is spot on. Upbeat, great sound, and production without trying to be a full-blown concert. Everyone is welcoming without being in your face and overbearing. The facilities are top-notch and seating is extremely comfortable. Really enjoying the experience and being fed the Word. I attended this church for a few years. At first, it seemed like a welcoming and friendly church, but over time it was more and more obvious that they’re more concerned about the numbers of attendants over caring for their congregation. It’s a very greedy church, dedicating at least the last 5 minutes of every service begging and even guilting the congregation to give them money. They’ve bragged about how much money they make during the service and one time even shamed a member of the church who they thought wasn’t giving enough. As for the teaching, I know some people like the blunt, in-your-face kind of preaching style, but it definitely blurs into being flat-out offensive at times. Especially towards LGBT people, Catholics, and people who are overweight. I was at a service once where they compared the beginning stages of the holocaust to Christians not being able to discriminate against transgender people, and saying that gay people were “newer than the iPhone” And they constantly shame people who are overweight with senseless jokes and more or less encourage people to not eat, saying that “an empty stomach will reveal how close you are with God, because an empty stomach shows who you really are.” To give credit where credit is due, their music is pretty good. If you’re looking for a free Christian concert, it’s good! Their band is very talented. I don’t often leave reviews on anything, much less churches, but if this stops one person from having a negative experience, it’ll be worth it. There are PLENTY of other churches in Winston Salem that’ll be more worth your time and that won’t be after your wallet. This is the kind of church that would’ve made Jesus flip tables. I have attended this church before on several different occasions, I totally enjoy the service and the fellowship of all the people that I have encountered every time that I come. However on this particular Sunday April 12th 2026 upon me walking through the front door I had my backpack and greeted everyone who greeted me, but for some reason one gentlemen in particular approached me about my backpack. I had never really felt an uncomfortable feeling coming here until that moment, he proceeded to ask me about my backpack and first thing he says is " Excuse sir but you are not allowed to have the backpack inside ." On one other occasion I had brought a bag with me and no said anything to me at all, also a lady that greeted me upon coming through the gate from the parking lot followed me all the way into the building and came to stand right directly beside of me and preceded to approach me and say hello and asked me if I was waiting on service to start. Now I arrived at the end of the 9am service so I thinking to myself well of I am here for the next service time, I am saying all of this to say that I feel that some people really need to be screened or for that matter every one needs to be screened before they are put on the greeter team. I just felt so uncomfortable because the gentlemen that approached me about my bag made me stand outside until other members of the security team came to get my bag to put it away. So a gentlemen named Sam came out and stated that there was nothing wrong with my bag and told me to come on in and provided a great welcome to me (kudos to Sam). I just want to say that I know that this a great place to worship and I will say with the way that the world is I totally understand safety precautions but when I see other people walking by with bags and women walking by with pocket books but I am the only one being pulled to the side about my bag they raises a question about some people at this church. I finally opened up my heart to Jesus 2 years ago and my life hasn’t been the same since. I was a critical skeptic of Christianity for the majority of my life and the first series I listened in to was addressing “what is wrong with the church.” I was in a dark place in my life and the series had me intrigued. I found myself returning, joining a community group and spending my free time volunteering elsewhere (not with the church, but with other Christian organizations, so was never a full member). I have since moved from NC yet continue to listen on live-stream with my now wife, who I met through a path that only Jesus could have led me on. God bless and Godspeed.
